The event is sponsored by the Feline Network of the Central Coast, a humane organization dedicated to the spaying and neutering, care, rescue and adoption of kittens and cats.

Monday

n The 53nd annual Labor Day Picnic sponsored by the San Luis Obispo County Democratic Central Committee will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Santa Rosa Park, corner of Santa Rosa and Oak streets in San Luis Obispo. Workers of all political affiliations and their families are invited in honor of the working class.

A tri-tip barbecue will be served at noon, with kids special meals and vegetarian meals available. The event will feature live music, a bounce house, children’s playground, booths, an auction and giveaways. Guest speaker will be State Sen. Dean Florez, D-Shafter.

Cost is $20 for Surfrider members and junior lifeguards (proof of association is required) and $30 for everyone else, which includes T-shirt and water. Paddle crafts will include surfboards, paddleboards, stand-ups, kayaks, canoes, and outriggers.
