Food, fun to raise funds for EOC Health Services

Tickets are now on sale for the 21st annual Afternoon of Epicurean Delights to benefit EOC Health Services.

This year’s garden party filled with food, drinks and music is set for 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 1, at the Chapman House by the Sea in Shell Beach.

Guests strolling the gardens at the cliffside home will be entertained by the Dentures, Gary Mendoza Blues Band, Soulamente, Louie Ortega, classical violinist Brynn Albanese, David Lynch and Friends and Kristen Black.

Gourmet foods will be served up by a variety of Central Coast establishments that donate their food and time, including Alex’s Bar-B-Q, Big Sky Caf/, Bayou House, the Cracked Crab, Del’s Pizzeria, Doc Burnstein’s Ice Cream Lab, Garden’s of Avila, KK’s Bundt Cakes, La Bella Olives, the Lido at Dolphin Bay Resort, Marisol, Marre’s, Morro Bay Mud Fudge, Novo and Old Vienna.

Also offering gourmet treats will be Phoenix Fine Catering, Seaside Caf/, Tahoe Joe’s, Thai Talay, the Clubhouse at this Old House, the Park, Trader Joe’s, Two Blocks Off the Beach/Tanner Jack’s, Upper Crust Trattoria and Windows on the Water

Staff members from a number of the Central Coast’s top wineries will pour their finest wines, including Alapay Cellars, Baileyana Winery, Cambria Winery & Vineyards, Carmody & McKnight Estate Vineyard, Castoro Cellars, Cerro Caliente Cellars, Claiborne & Churchill Vintners and Cottonwood Canyon Vineyard.

Also scheduled to pour are EOS Estate Winery, Fratelli Perata Winery, Harmony Cellars, Jankris Winery, Justin Winery & Vineyards, Kelsey See Canyon Vineyards, Laetitia Vineyard & Winery, Maloy O’Neill Vineyards and Midnight Cellars Winery.

Rounding out the list are Norman Vineyards, Opolo Vineyards, Peachy Canyon Winery, Saucelito Canyon Winery, Still Waters Vineyards, Tablas Creek Vineyard, Tolosa Winery, Valdemosa, Vista Del Rey Vineyards and Wolff Vineyards.

For those who prefer the grain to the grape, three local breweries will be present to serve up suds — Central Coast Brewing, Downtown Brew and Firestone Walker Brewery.

Koffee Klatsch will again provide its own rich brew.

Breakaway Tours will provide shuttle service to and from the event, starting at 11:15 a.m. and continuing until 4 p.m. in the parking at F McLintocks Saloon & Dining House on Mattie Road in Shell Beach.

Tickets are $100 and may be purchased at the Crushed Grape, the San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande chambers of commerce and by calling the EOC Health Services administrative office at 544-2498.

Last year, EOC Health Services provided a variety of services to Central Coast residents, funded in part by money raised at the annual Shell Beach event.

Those services included 11,000 reproductive health visits; 500 free mammograms; prevention education to more than 5,700 middle and high school students; and after-school youth development activities to more than 100 Nipomo teens.

The agency also provided case management and advocacy to more than 220 pregnant and parenting teens; the removal of unwanted gang-related and antisocial tattoos for more than 68 participants; and more than 1,600 health screening visits for seniors.
