n “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” to Stop Rape will be held April 26 in San Luis Obispo. Registration and check-in will be held at 11 a.m. at Mitchell Park, 1400 Osos St. The march will begin at noon. n Firefighters from Arroyo Grande will “Fill their Boots” for Jerry’s Kids from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 26 at the intersection of Halcyon Road and Grand Avenue.

Firefighters will be holding out their rubber boots, giving passing cars and pedestrians the opportunity to drop in currency as donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Funds raised will remain local in the Tri-Counties area and will send children to MDA’s summer camp, fund research, MDA’s clinic and purchase medical equipment.

n A Monte Carlo Casino Night will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. May 30 at the Atascadero Best Western Colony Hall on El Camino Real to benefit the Central Coast Zoo Society. The fundraiser will specifically help fund the New Zoo, a large renovation project planned for the Charles Paddock Zoo.

The entry fee for adults 21 and over is $60 per person and $100 per couple for tickets in advance or $75 per person and $125 per couple for tickets at the door. The entry fee includes chips for gambling and unlimited food and wine. The event will feature dancing, giveaways, and psychic reading. Hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served with the games beginning at 7 p.m. Blackjack, poker, roulette and craps will be available for play. A poker tournament will be available for an additional $25 entry fee.
